Guam IRA and SOE Alumni Association Donate to the 69th Operation Christmas Drop
Through the efforts and partnership of the Guam Council of the International Reading Association and the University of Guam SOE Alumni Association, over 2,000 books were collected and donated to this year’s Operation Christmas Drop. Southern High School, JM Guerrero Elementary School, and St. Francis Catholic School, were the schools designated to drop off books that were donated, sorted, and packed. Students, faculty, staff, and the Guam community, donated paperback and hardcover books, teacher resources, school supplies, and even encyclopedias, for our island neighbors. November Meeting Snapshots
Si Yu'os Ma'ase' to everyone who joined us for our virtual General Membership Meeting on November 14, 2020. We hope you enjoyed the meaningful “Examining the Possibilities” literacy presentations that were presented and the various exciting prizes that were given throughout the meeting! Members were able to gain literary insights from the Ta Tuge' Mo'na writing organization, University of Guam Press, and Liwayway Anicas who featured her IRA grant project titled, "Keep Quiet, Listen, and Read On."
