February ILA Meeting Snapshots

The love of reading was highlighted during the February 19, 2022 ILA meeting, as educators were delighted to hear UOG's Dr. Anita Borja Enriquez's heartwarming story titled Neni Girl from Agat, Guam.  Dr. Enriquez shared her story of growing up in the beautiful village of Hagat with much enthusiasm and inspired the audience.  She also shared the adorable Neni Girl Ana and Neni Boy Juan dolls.  In addition, ILA Board Members, Dr. Matilda Naputi Rivera and Verna Mendiola, conducted Read Alouds of My Nana and Me and US MARINES Alphabet Book, respectively.  Mendiola captured the Semper Fi spirit!  A special Read Aloud recording with Hector Elizondo reading Somebody Loves You, Mr. Hatch was also presented.  Not to mention, wonderful prizes of calendars, gift certificates, Dr. Enriquez's featured book, magnetic planners, etc. were given away to many of our members who joined us during this special literacy event.  Enjoy the following snapshots, and we'll see you at our Read-A-Thon Kickoff on March 19, 2022!
